One of the most important television shows in history, "The Show With No Name" was a weekly cable access program broadcast from Austin, Texas. Featuring public submissions of 'clips,' interspersed with the commentary of hosts Charlie Sotelo and Cinco, "The Show with No Name" not only spoke truth to power for the Supreme Court's historic ruling in Sony Corp. of America v. Universal City Studios, Inc. 464 U.S. 417 (1984), while articulating the wealth of challenges within the field of video preservation, but more importantly it forecast an entire generation's paradigm for watching moving images. This transfer was made from a videotape compilation, amalgamated from Rankin's collection of 8-hour off-air tapes.
